When credits are applied to an accounts receivable account they are automatically applied to an outstanding invoice. It would be much easier if you were able to apply these credits when you were recieving a payment because many customers are paying certain invoices and if the credits are applied to those invoices you have to apply the payments to other outstanding invoices.
