How to modify the EXPORT xml file of a purchase order...

Question

Hi, When I view a recipt there are a option EXPORT AS XML... is there a way to modify the resulting xml file? I just need it to have one more aditional field...is that possible?Thanks

If this is a one time deal just open using Notepad. If you need the additional info on all your PO's then you can modify the XML template using Notepad. These are located in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\ReceiptTemplates

It is not a one time operation... its a project wich export rms purchase orders to other sofware called OrderManager....I think if I modify the xml recipe it the result will be a modified Recipt page right?The thing i wish to modify is the xml result of the export of that recipt....I need to add a field called ItemNumber to the  secion of each item... that way the xml file will be list all its item in a numeric way... such as Item1, Item2, Item3... etc...."Rob" wrote:

or is there a XSL way to modify the PO-xxx.XML file?in order to enumerate each item contained in the ITEMS section of the file?or is there a way to reference the inherit node number of each ?Thanks

Unfortunately this operation must be apart of the compiled code of RMS and probably no way of modifying how the structure comes out. Although thinking about this a little further if you added another column called ItemNumber and added your Item1, Item2...it might be included in the XML export. It's worth a try.
