sIs it illegal to buy POS (not RMS) from anyone else other than a partner if the box is sealed and the program has never been installed or registered before? I know, MS encourages to buy from Partners, but is it mandetory? I understand that one can't resell the item ONCE IT IS INSTALLED in a machine. But what about a sealed box which has never been put to use before? Nowhere in MS Website I have seen that you MUST buy from partners. And the EULA you agree to is only when you install it the frist time. Can someone please let me know if there is any legal issues if I buy from outside source? Sales support of Microsoft refuse to register the software. One of their complains is that it is an illegal software because I didn't buy it from one of their partnars. I find it rather strange.
