How is it compared to other POS systems? Thanks.
I have not tried other POS systems, but if you want to know weather it's easy for other employees to learn, it's simple...you can read about it on the MS website regarding the system. It takes a while to set it up and all of that, as far as inventory goes etc, but as far as employees goes, it shouldn't really take more than a day for them to get the hang of it, and within a week they are pretty much pros at it.
Nevermind everyone. I've decided not to go with their system. I was told to avoid the Microsoft product. Too many crashes/freeze ups according to a restaurant owner locally in town.
That's pretty interesting in that the software, MS POS, has only been out for ~2 months and isn't designed to work in a restaurant anyway!
I am thinking he might have some demo version which doesn't work fully. In any event, if it has only been out for two months, then i will hold off on it. I'm sure MS is working the bugs out. Probably will seek other established POS systems.
Depending on the fit and your needs, look at Microsoft's more mature, higher end POS software, Retail Management System.
MS RMS Store Operations is the most stable software I have ever sold. In 15 years of selling POS. Get it, if it meets your business needs. Get a working demo and try it out. Very good software. Get it from a good partner, this will really help. Anyone who says it won't run, has set it up wrong or do simply not know what they are talking about. mt
