We entered some items with the sales tax flag selected and other without. I need to update each of my items to show the default sales tax value.

You don't need a SQL query.
Just go into Manager. Wizards, Inventory Wizard, Task 170, Next, All, Next, Finish. In the New Item Tax column right click and copy the correct value, then right click, paste to all rows. Commit
