Randomly losing touchscreen keyboard

Have a couple accounts that will lose their keyboard settings, sometimes after a reboot, sometimes it is gone when they come in. Have seen it on Radiant terms, Dell servers with w/ touchscreen monitors and Posiflex terms. Dialing in and resetting it works but it will disappear sometime later. The latest situation is a customer who has two sites with identical equipment (Radiant all-in-one terminal) and one site has lost the touchscreen at least

I did a search here and did not find it addressed in previous posts so it must not be a common occurence.

Any ideas appreciated, sorry this post came in slightly shorter than War and Peace, the novel.
