Have you thought about using the Inventory Wizards instead of scripting your changes? The wizards are designed specifically for projects like this.

hi faiz go to wizards ->inventory wizards -> task 110 -change item price click next then choose the item you want to change -> choose regular in ( price to be change )you want change ( regular here )-> click next -> click next again ( round not needed -> click finish, in the form click import here you can use your csv or tab file to import note : 1- make a backup copy befor you intend to change any data

2- csv file must comply with the diagram of rms form hope this will help

Faiz - Are you talking about HQ or SO for your changes?

Your post mentions POs, and that you would like to modify the Qty and Price (both can be done) however where a PO actually says 'Price' (only in HQ does it do this) it really means system Cost - so, are you looking to update Cost, not Price? If yes - you do not want to use a task 110, but rather a task 130.

Also - you can import a PO in both HQ and SO provided your fields match up, this is going to be one of the easiest options for you.

For sure let me know about the HQ vs SO thing as that will give the responses a good basis.

thanks for the reply I am using SO. I like to update system cost, supplier cost, qty and price. as for qty it need to ADD to the qty on-hand. I will be having these info in a file(xl,csv)

Hi Faiz,

What is your emial? I am writing very detailed directions and I think they are getting a bit long. I can just shoot you the doc I am working on instead of posting.

Also - are you working with a database that has inactivated items in it?
