Advantages to covert from Peachtree Complete Accounting

I am seriously considering converting from Peachtree Complete Accounting to Quickbooks Pro for my small church. I have only been using the GL, Reports, and Payroll modules in the past, but plan on using Quickbooks Pro (or Peachtree) to print checks and use the AP module.

Plus, willl Quickbooks be able to convert my Peachtree files and reports?

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Rick!

QuickBooks offers a Conversion tool to easily convert your Peachtree file into QuickBooks. You can read more about this here:

If you wanted to just try out QuickBooks, you could take a 'copy' of your peachtree file and convert it over into QuickBooks and use one of the free trials to play around with it:

I hope this helps! Amy

I did use the conversion tool which did easily convert the files to Quickbooks. However, I am trying to now customize some reports, more specifically:

- print a check register to PDF or Excel

- print a detail of all other liability account activity for a month Also, need some guidance on exporting entries from Excel into Quickbooks.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

To print the register, open it up and select print. To print to PDF you will need a PDF utility installed on your computer. I use CutePDF to print reports to a pdf file. You can not export the register to excel as far as I can tell.

QB allows for importing lists from excel but not transactions. You would need a third party tool to accomplish this. Look at

to see if they have something that works for you. Are you sure it was worth converting from Peachtree?
