Backing up in Quicken

I use Q2005 for OSX. I did use Q2001 until last year. It seems that backing up and then uploading to my FTP server has gotten more difficult in the 2005 version. For example I cannot upload the file dikrectly like I could with the old Mac OS (missing data and resource forks). So I try to use Apple's built in zipper, but it does not zip the file properly, so I then use stuff-it expander.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My bank accounts must be backed up offline, and I need a simple solution for offline backups.

In OS 9.1 and Q2001 I just used Fetch and uploaded. But in OSX using Q2005 Quiken files seem to be folders. OSX has no resource forks.

The Quicken date 'file' is a folder. In the finder, use the "Create Archive of ..." command in the File menu.

It works just fine for me with Quicken 2005. I select the whole Quicken folder in my documents folder, select 'Create Archive of "Quicken"' from the contextual menu and it zips into a nice small archive. And just to make certain, I unzipped and opened the data file that was in the zip archive. It worked.
