How to change type of account

Dec 11, 2009 1 Replies

I use Quicken Premier 2008.

A few months ago, I purchased a money market fund with a big chunk of dollars. I made a mistake and coded the new account as a savings account instead of an investment account. As a result, the asset allocation is not what I want it to be.

How do I change the account from "savings to investment" to correct the situation?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There may be more than one way to handle your situation; but - based on your post - I think the simplest is to change the account "Group" of the account.

Select the "Manage Accounts" tab in the Accounts List (Tools menu), select the account, click the "Change Group" button, and change the Group to "Investment".
