I have some Money Market funds with check writing feature, how do I setup this type of fund in Q07?
John, The Fund is not a sweep fund for a brokerage account. It's a Janus standard Money Market fund with check writing. I also have several other funds with Janus and I do want the Quicken transaction/ holdings to match the real-world. I only intend to write checks occasionally. I do download transactions. I do not want to use online billpay or "schedule" transactions from the fund. The MM fund is a place I keep easy access cash. I have tried to set up the fund as asset fund and my real problem is how do I make it allow check writing. Dick
You will have to set it up as either a security in an investment account (investment accounts have check writing capability), or as a checking account; which one depends on Janus (you must use the same account type that Janus sends in the download).
You can't use an Asset account; not only do they not have the ability to handle checks, but you can't download to them.
