Vista Home Premium Shut Down w/Qkn p'07

Have not seen this issue addressed. Have a new laptop w/Vista HP. Qkn '07 installed & updated w/no problems. However, once qkn is on the computer it fails to shut down about 75% of the time. I have added other programs w/no issues, I have reformatted & added qkn alone; I went so far as to return the laptop & buy another brand with the same result. It seems to be a qkn/vista issue but I do not know how to deal w/it; the right sidebar closes & then nothing happens, no error messages & the desktop & icons remain as they were so I must turn the computer off manually. I hope someone (Han perhaps) w/vista & qkn experience might have some ideas -- would appreciate any suggestions (aside from uninstalling qkn & not having on the laptop).

There may have been a problem with slow read/writes, at least to the external hard drive on my desktop via my wireless LAN, but otherwise, it works fine here, albeit slow.

Han, Qkn works & works fast - this seems to be a vista problem where the computer does not shut down when qkn is installed - I don't have to open qkn to see this behavior. This starts happening the minute I install qkn - w/o qkn all works as it should.

I don't have that problem with my Vista hopelessly slow cheap laptop. The only problem is that I have to reboot too often :(

If you have Quicken set to automatically schedule updates you will find it is that background process that at times fails to shutdown properly. Try disabling the automatic updates and see if that helps. Since the stupid program asks for the vault password anyway I just do it manually.
