Microsoft RMS POS 2.0 & Vista Home Premium

Aug 17, 2007 5 Replies

We just purchased a new PC with Vista Home Premium, and we plan on buying Microsoft RMS POS 2.0.

Will version 2.0 of RMS POS run on Vista Home Premium?

Thanks,

Tom

While RMS does on on Vista very well, in my opinion but you will want to make sure that all of addional POS hardware will work with Vista as well i.e. scanners, printers. etc...

I know that the TPI plug-in from Mercury is not compatible with Vista and neither are the Mini MIRC check readers from Magtek.

Having the ability to process checks is not as critical as it once was, as alot of retailers will no longer accept checks.

Unfortunatly this is a function that I needed to have working and in place, so I was forced to go with Windoes XP until new drivers for the check readers are developed and the TPI plug-in is updated to work with Vista.

I have allot of problems in RMS with widows Vista.

I am running Vista on my Manager machine with no problems. I also tested POS with Vista and it worked as well. Haven't had to replace POS yet so I don't know whether receipt printers, cash drawer, pole display, etc. work or not. Almost forgot, this is on version 1.3.1006 not 2.0 Craig

printer, cash Drawer, pole display, etc. because from the last one month I am trying to fix the problems. when one thing configure the next problem start. even you can see my so many question in RMS discussion. please help us. Thanks
