Hello Dan,

I am Rey Oruga of Manila, Philippines. I am at Iloilo Supermart now, doing implementaion and we have encountered two problems during the installation.

  1. common user vs. administrator.

We did installation of RMS, 1 Store, 2 Lanes, No HQ.

Store Server runs on SQL 5.0 and Server 2003

Lanes runs on XP Professional, and MSDE 2000 SP4. RMS is Ver 2.0

When doing Store Operations POS on Lanes this error occurs:

Microsoft Dynamics RMS: Your Windows user account does not have permission to write to the registry

The first ordinary user will continue, but the second user will have the same error. But when we shift to administrator, no kind of error occurs. We did on-line activation.

What security on the registry do we need to change?

  1. Situation: Item has 178,000 records. On a Pentium 4 PC with 256 Memory, Lookup is common. But when we run it on an ordinary POS machine, the lookup for the ITEM takes
10-15 minutes. Even when opening on STORE OPERATIONS MANAGER, the opening of the ITEM at DATABASE, takes 10-15 minutes.

Question: A pentium IV pc runs it ok, but on ordinary PC of lower specs it really slows down. Does RMS 2.0 requires a specific processor to run on the PC? we tried adding memory, but the performance is still the same.

Also, we cannot install the SQL Express included in RMS 2.0 at this PC, (OS: XP Professional SP2). We are now running MSDE 2000, SP4.

What is your best recommendation.

Thanks.
