Quicken 2008 Premier & Vista

Is Quicken 2008 Premier compatible with Vista? Any special work- arounds required? I'm planning on upgrading to Vista, but do not want to proceed until I'm sure that I can still run Quicken.

Hi, Kupchik.

If there were any problems with any Q2008 version and Vista, we would have heard about them by now.

Since about August 2005, I've been using Vista, first through several beta builds and, since November 2006, in the "final" "Gold" "RTM" versions of Vista Ultimate x64 and x86. I've run the Basic versions of Quicken 2005,

2006 and 2007 and now - since Intuit dropped the Basic version - the Deluxe version of Quicken 2008. (I've been running Quicken since MS-DOS days, but it has been nearly a decade since I used any premium version.) In all those combinations, there never was a question of Quicken's compatibility with Vista. I did have problems getting Quicken's Release 3 for Q2007 installed, as reported here several months ago, but that hassle was ironed out and I've had no such trouble with later releases - or with the upgrade from Q2007 Basic to Q2008 Deluxe.

Come on in. The water's fine! ; Is Quicken 2008 Premier compatible with Vista? Any special work-

RC is the ultimate expert on vista/qkn; from just another user perspective -- I have vista home premium & qkn '08 p. Qkn installed w/o issue & installed all updates/patches; I installed as administrator but data are in a limited user acc't. My data converted w/o error though I followed my routine of copying & validating prior to conversion. YMMV but for me all went well.

I run Vista Ultimate and Q2008P works fine. I have had no problems with conversion, installation and stability. I ran Q2007P for a few months but had problems with crashing and OSU not completing. I no longer have those problems as this version was developed with Vista in mind.

My laptop was a manufacture install of Vista as my old laptop with XP tanked. I was trying to hold out another year for Vista - oh well.
