Quicken 2008 with Acer Extensa 5620Z

Feb 11, 2009 1 Replies

Need help! I've been attempting to use Quicken 2008 Deluxe with an Acer Extensa 5620Z laptop (Vista Home Premium). I can install the program but when I attempt to run it the large Quicken logo appears for a split second and then disappears. There is a known compatibility issue with Quicken and Acer and I've tried the suggested work arounds without success. Intuit blames Acer and Acer responds that they don't support third party software.

I've installed and removed the program (using the Quicken removal tool)at least 10 times without success. Very frustrating.

Any Quicken users out there have success using Acer?

For email response remove MYHAT.

Thanks....Bob

Are you installing as administrator? That may be your problem.

I have run and am still running Q2006, 2007, and 2008 (DL, US) on an Acer Aspire 3680 laptop, and have never had problems with Q. The laptop is only Home Basic, updated to the latest. I changed the cpu, dvd and installed more memory to get better performance (got it!), but don't want to shell out more bucks to M$ for an upgraded OS. Maybe if Windows

7 gets indeed good grades.
