Is there a notes function in Q98?

One thing that I've struggled with for years is keeping up with various notes on my quicken sessions. How does everyone else handle this situation?

I use notes to remind myself of various things: for example, I charged a lot on my Visa card this month so remember to increase the payment next month, research why I was charged for a late fee on MC, discussed lowering my interest rate with Discover, etc, etc.

The way I've handled it so far is by keeping a notepad text file in the quicken directory, and I bring it up when I get into quicken. It has my notes on it. What I would love is to have a running log in quicken and pop in reminder notes on specific days (that float if they are not handled on that day). Is this available or something equally effective?

Thanks.

Probably should read Q2008.

I know of no way for Quicken to do what you're asking; which, as I read it, is to have reminders like you can get in Outlook ... or better.

The only feature I know of that Quicken has that even comes close is Calendar notes. You can put notes in your Quicken Calendar, and Billminder can be set to run each day when you start Windows (or you can run it yourself whenever you want), and Billminder will display Calendar notes for a selected - very limited - future (or prior) period.

[You can also put "Reminder" transactions in investment accounts; Billminder will display those also.]

It's a very primative capability; you might be better off using Outlook (or equivalent).

There is a free "post it" style note program that you may find useful:

If you're using Thunderbird or Firefox there is a very useful, free add-on called ReminderFox that you could use and it will pretty much let you do what you want.
