Loss of share value for MM funds

Quicken deluxe 2010, Win XP Pro SP3

Saw this problem awhile back, but didn't pay attention to it as I was not having it, but now it has popped up.

My wife and I have several accounts with Pro Funds (each have Roth, Trad Ira, Standard brokerage account). I D/L transactions using web connect.

Today after D/l and going thru the accepting process for all accounts, I took a look at each account balabce on the left column. Every account was SIGNIFICANTLY lower that it should have been. After getting the heart settled down, I looked at each acount. Each account has several funds along with a Money Market fund that is used as the conduit to buy and sell funds within the account.

I found every MM account has a blank value for the sahre value, so that is where the valuation went.

I do recall seeing a header several weeks ago, but for some reason or aother, I can't find either the original post or any responses.

Can someone please tell me what the resoulstion to this problem was ?

I've seen this also. I manually corrected the price to $1.00 per share. Than, I changed the money market security to remove the ticker symbol so that the prices would not download for it any more. If a mnoney market fund actually does break the buck, the news will be sure to report on it.

After trying MANY times unsuccessfully to manually change the share price (I'm lucky to have any hair left after all the pulling I've done), I have just about given up trying to find the proper place to make the change - I've tried going to the account overview Holdings area and attempted to enter a 1.00 in the blamk quote field next to Money Market Service. It just won't tke anything I type.

Is there another place where I need to go to change the quote field ? And will entering the 1.00 in the quote field cause the Market value to update also ?

I have not gotten to the part where I change the name of the security to prevent d/l quotes. Is this the same place? Please help me to retain what hair I have left........:-)

Thanks

There are several "places" where you can normally change the price/share for a security.

One is where you already tried: the Holdings pane on the Overview tab of any account where the security is held.

In line with that approach, you should also be able to modify the price/share in the the Investing > Portfolio view ... on any view that displays the "Quote/Price" column.

Another place to add, change, or delete security prices, is the Security Detail View (Investing > Investing Tools > Security Detail View). Select the security from the drop down, then click Update > Edit Price History. You should be able to "Edit" any incorrect prices and correct them ("High" and "Low" can be zero, but not blank). In the case of money market funds, you can also take the approach of deleting invalid prices ... all you need is a single $1/share price (assuming its date is old enough to apply to all your holdings).

If you uncheck the security in the One Step Update Settings (what you see when you initiate a One Step Update), Quicken should not try to provide prices for that security. The first row in OSU Settings ("Download quotes, ...") has a link to "Select quotes".

If all the above options fail: it's possible you're experiencing a problem that surfaced a couple of months ago, and was supposedly fixed ... but may be happening again. The Intuit FAQ, with proposed workarounds (including some provided by users), can be seen at:
