Heheh, you are sooooo right. :-) I bought QP2009 for $71.99 (b4 tax) using an online coupon code. The new interface is taking some getting used to. It looks like Intuit is duplicating the functions of the icon bar & accounts bar in the extra tabs. Having used Q for so many years, I like my icon bar and have adjusted to the account bar, so it would be nice to be able to turn off some of those unused tabs, change the order of them, etc.

My 2008 data set converted w/o any problem whatsoever, and although Intuit didn't bring back the ability to see transactions for given categories & subcategories, there's a drop-down option to see unused categories. Not exactly what I'd hoped for, but it's helpful just the same. :-) If this option was in 2008, my old eyeballs missed it.

Anyway, that's what I see so far. Not a compelling upgrade by any means, unless there's stuff under the hood I haven't found yet. Still, I upgrade every year, so I just couldn't let one year go by w/o getting the new version. I'm not sorry I upgraded by any means.

Regards,

Margaret

Hi there Margaret - "welcome back" (! :-) )- is that little icon indicating a 'tax-related' transaction still on (at least in mine) virtually every other entry in the register?

Hi Andrew, yes, it's still there. But ... there's an option to turn it off. (They call it the "TurboTax" icon. Makes sense, now that I think about it.) :-)

Hey, great! This along might make me buy 09! What a great strategy - put something into Q that is objectionable without any means to turn it off or remove it as part of the user-interface, then remove it (or provide the so-called 'fix') the next year forcing one to buy the "upgrade"! (Gee, did

*I* say that??)

Thanks for posting.
