Need help with online rror message

Every time I go online, I get the Online Update Summary window with the following error message: !Your financial institution cannot recognize account XXXX. To continue, review the account information: in the a Account Bar list, right click this account name and choose edit account... and so on... [OL-304-A]

!Additional information from UBS Financial Services: Account not found

Last connection 8/23/2004 Received 7/25/05

This account was closed several months ago. When I go in to edit the account info, I go through the motions to deactivate online access, but it still says it is active. My other UBS accounts were deactivated without a problem. Also, this online session was not with UBS, it was with my bank.

Any ideas how to clear this and keep this error message from popping up with every online session? Running Q2005 H&B w/XP Home. Thanks.

Just curious, before I answer and perhaps quote some of your text. You chose X-NO-Archive for your post. Why? Do you also have objections to being quoted?

The X-NO-Archive is a left over from a year or so ago when I was one of 40+ people named in a SLAPP lawsuit. It related to some true, but not very favorable comments, made in postings to rec.collecting.coins. The morons didn't understand the difference between someone posting something and someone quoting a previous posting in a response.

So, the no-archive was set at the recommendation of the lawyer who represented me. Do a Google search on Accugrade lawsuit, and it will point you to lots of links with details, if it interests you. BTW, the suit still goes on, after several refilings, but I was dropped from it.

Back to my original question - if anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them, and feel free to quote my original text. I have no objections :.) Thanks, Barry

Try this. Create a new account. Use the Q2005 feature to copy/paste all transactions in the problem account to the new account. Click on the

1st transaction, scroll to the bottom of the register and hold down Shift while clicking on the last transaction. Right-click, select Copy transactions. Open the new account, click on a line in the register, right-click, select paste transactions. Fix up the transfers that got messed up. Delete the old account.

If that doesn't work, then the problem may be with the account that you are doing the one-step update with. Follow the same routine for that account.
