Philip Morris Spun off Kraft - Anyone Know How to Enter?

Apr 06, 2007 2 Replies

Greets,

Philip Morris just spun off Kraft last weekend at a rate of .65 shares of Kraft for each share of Philip Morris.

Does anyone know to go about entering this into Quicken? I am using

2006, but I doubt it much matters.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated

To start the ball rolling here, do you download automatically into your investment account, or do you manually enter transactions? If you manually enter transactions, have you tried the 'Corporate Securities Spin Off' dialog? Am I missing something deeper in your post?

Hi, Ira.

We've already been discussing this spinoff at length here. See the thread, Subject: Corporate spin off in Q2006, started 4/3/07 by gbottolfsen.

In that thread, you'll find links to correct the information you posted. The spinoff was from Altria, the parent of Philip Morris, and it was .692024 shares of the new Kraft for each Altria share.
