I am long time Quicken user (starting with one of the DOS versions) and upgraded to Q2010 Premier from Q2007 Premier over the holiday weekend. Running XP Professional.
I have encountered several conversion issues, including the following.
Under Q2007, I had income categories "_401ContribCatchUp" and "_401ContribSpouseCatchUp" that allowed me to track our standard 401 (k) contributions separately from our catch up contributions. Candidly, I no longer remember if those categories were pre-defined in Q2007 (or earlier versions) or whether I had added them. In any event, they worked in the expected manner with Q2007.
Tonight, I ran a tax report under Q2010 and discovered that Q2010 has deleted my "_401ContribCatchUp" and "_401ContribSpouseCatchUp" categories and recharacterized them as "_401Contrib" and "_401ContribSpouse".
Over the years, I have created a number of additional income and expense categories and subcategories to my Quicken accounts that make it easier to slice and dice the information. The other active categories I have invented seemed to have converted OK.
Any thoughts, or am I stuck with manually recharacterizing 48 transactions per year for the last xxx years?
Thanx
