Quicken Premier: Windows vs Mac

I have been using Quicken Premiere for longer than I care to admit. Quicken Premiere 2018 is available for both Windows and Mac. If I switch to Mac, what features will I lose?

I have cruised quicken.com for answers without success.

I found a Quicken Community post that discusses this. It looks like Quicken Mac is not very good. According to this post, reports are quite weak.

Consider giving Crossover a try.

Crossover (WINE) is written to run on OSX & loads just enough of Windows to get Q to run. I think it's about $60 & you actually run the Windows versio n.

I've been doing it that way for 2+ years.

Occasionally, I hit some glitches, but I've found a way to get through them .

Be advised that I just had an issue where Q16 R14 wouldn't run under the la test release of Crossover. Codeweavers Support was pretty responsive & prov ided a beta release of Xover that resolved my issue. However, if Q is missi on critical & you can't live with a few days downtime, you'd need to consid er whether Xover is the route you need.

Thank you for your report on Crossover. I have been watching this project for a while now. I appreciate the update.

I have been using Parallels virtual machine manager for a few years now. It is a more heavy-weight solution, in the sense that it hosts a full copy of Windows 8 for me. It is solid, but it won't last forever. Eventually I will have to move up to Windows 10 and I absolutely do not trust that piece of spyware.

I hope that by the time Windows 8 reaches end-of-life, either Quicken Mac will be mature, or Crossover will be solid.
