I have Quicken Premier 2006, Windows. I am trying to figure what catagory to place real estate taxes paid from my checking account so that they are properly accounted for tax purposes. I have my car registrations entered, these work fine.

Whatever category you use, make sure it is clicked off as a 'tax' related category, and associate it with 'Schedule A:Real estate taxes' on the 'tax line item' in the category list. That ought to do the trick. Assume you do this to export to a tax program....
