Run Quicken for Windows on your Mac

Instead of messing with Quicken for Mac, try installing Virtual Box from Sun Microsystems on your Mac, then in the new "Virtual" Windows machine that you've created, you can load and run your old trusty version of Quicken. The best of both worlds. I've done this and so far all seems to be running smoothly. Then dump your Dell and free up some space on your desk.
