I complete and transmit my 1040 return using the free file link on the irs webpage. I always complete my 1041 return using pen and paper and send by US mail. Is there a way to complete and transmit my 1041 return online for free similar to the way I complete and transmit my 1040 using the free file link on the irs webpage? I also have the same question for my 541 California return.

I doubt you will find free e-file software for fiduciary returns. Free e-file exists for individuals because Congress listened to the complaints of their constituents and insisted it be made available and the IRS agreed not to create its own version as long as the commercial companies provided free e-file. Trusts and estates don't vote.
