Why do I have this sinking feeling that when I volunteer my time with AARP Taxaide this season I am going to encounter clients that have rolled over (not a trustee to trustee transfer) their IRA more than once in one year? Could it be I have already had two conversations with people who have done that!

As an AARP TaxAide site coordinator, it is my belief that untangling the "mess" is beyond the scope of TaxAide training. Refer the client to a paid professional (with apologies of course).
It seems that AARP has become increasingly insistent on not exceeding the limits of their training, especially in the past few years. This now results in not being able to help clients with situations which we handled in past years (and must now turn down).
