Can spouses combine RMDs?

My gut tells me the answer is "no", but I wanted to consult the experts. To elaborate, I'm aware that an individual required to take RMDs can take the full amount from one qualified account even if he has multiple qualified accounts. However, suppose a husband and wife are both required to take RMDs. Can they take the aggregate total from, say, the husbands account only and not take any money from the wife's account? The two would be MFJ, of course.

thanks

Your gut was right. No can do.

The I in IRA means Individual.
