Q2002 --> How to Combine 2 Files?

I have two separate files (Q2002) with lots of investment data and want to combine them into a single file, with all transactions, etc., intact.

Can this be done?

How?

Thanks. John!

Great. I was able to combine the two files into a single file with only one error in each of the two files.

But now, although I have a single file, --it has two separate accounts in it!

How do I merge the two accounts into one account?

I have two investment accounts at the same broker, each with mutual funds and stocks, and with many reinvestments buying additional shares. So there is a long history. Each account has roughly the same funds and stocks, although the amounts differ. I have consolidated the two accounts into one, and want to do the same thing in Quicken 2002. (I will get a newer version, if necessary.) I want to end up with all of the transactions and details and history consolidated into a single account.

Suggestions?

You could have imported the account from the discarded Quicken file directly into the account in the file you merged into. You can still do it that way. The alternative really isn't an alternative: export from one account and import to the other; same-o, same-o.

In 2005 you can move transactions. It is a necessity if you still want to use a qif download for checking accounts. Just import the qif into any (new) account of a type that still allows it (CC comes to mind, then move the transactions. At least I think that can work.

It might very well simplify things a lot if it worked; but I'm afraid the capability does not extend to investment accounts. You can not "select" multiple transactions in a Q2005 investment account, which would be the first requirement to moving them. You can cut/paste individual transactions, but I just assumed the op would not want to take that tedious route.
