Combining Two Quicken 2002 files..how to do it?

Aug 16, 2007 3 Replies

Hi

I presently have two seperate quicken files on my system (My accounts and my wife's accounts). This has worked fine until recently, when we have decided to jointly administer all accounts. I want to move ALL the information from one of the files into the other, so that I end up with a single file for both of us. This will consolidate information on reports etc.

I can not find a way to do this.

When I use a QIF file export/import I do not get all the detailed transactions on the accounts, although I do appear to get everything else. Can anyone please tell me how to combine two Quicken account files into one!!!

Your help would be much appreciated.

What do you mean? What are you getting? What are you not?

QIF is about the only thing I know of to move/copy data from one Quicken file into another. Post back as to what problem you are having with QIF import/export.

Have a look at the 'merge_quicken_files.rtf' file on the QuickenUsers group on msn.com:

The specific problem I have is that I can import everything from one File to another EXCEPT the detailed transactions (checks..charges to charge account etc). The balance that shows on imported accounts is always zero, therefore. This is no help at all since I have to be able to import the account information as it is right now!

I don't think I am doing anything wrong, and have indicated that I want to create a QIF with all transactions on it -- trouble is it does not appear to work !
