Dependent's Medical insurance Question, Please

Feb 27, 2019 1 Replies

Hello,

Want to be sure I do this correctly. With all the new changes, not sure. So, let me please ask:

Our son, way, way over 17, lives with us. No employment, or income.

We provide everything; free room and board, etc.

We have been taking out for him a yearly Individual Blue Cross medical insurance policy.

Will probably be itemizing, as lots of medical expenses (Sr. Citizens now).

On the $500 Dependent option (not sure what it is called), can we deduct the cost of his medical insurance ? [not the under 17 child credit section, as he's over 17]

Where would it be done ? How ?

As always, Thanks, B.

Is this the "additional child care credit"?

In any case, if he is a "dependent" (which I see no reason to doubt) his medical insurance is included with your medical expenses.
