Does a 403b contribution affect a Roth IRA contribution?

Feb 26, 2019 1 Replies

My son put $500 in a 403b because that was what his employer would match. Does that have any effect on what he can put in his Roth?

Thanks much

No.

Being covered by a retirement plan at work can limit the deductibility of traditional IRA contributions. It has no impact on non-deductible traditional or Roth IRA contributions.
