DUI class fee deduction

I'm going to be doing a friends taxes this weekend. She took court ordered DUI classes which she had to pay for. She said she read somewhere that these fees, or at least part of them, are tax deductible. We reside in Illinois. I can't seem to find any information on this. Does anyone know anything about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bluto87

For most it would not be deductible. But if she were a pilot or school bus driver?

As an amount in lieu of a fine or penalty, no deduction [IRC

If you do something illegal (DUI is), you may not deduct any of the expenses for that act. Missy Doyle
