As a current expat, I am treasurer of a small Catholic church group. I have no financial interest in this account but only deposit funds and pay bills. The account has over 10K in it. Any recommendations on filing a TD F 90-22.1. This will also be a late filing as I completely forgot about these requirements. Thanks

I can find no exception for nonprofits, including religious organizations, for FBAR reporting requirements. The filing requirements are based on the Bank Secrecy Act not the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, assuming the account you reference is a foreign account and its balance exceeded $10K during any part of the year, the form is required to be filed by 6/30 of the year after the calendar year reported on the Form 990.
