Form 1095-A Health Insurance

I will not qualify for any benefit. So do I even have to file these? If so, I have two questions....

Does my son's go on my return or my own? He had a separate policy. He only has a little income, so he might qualify for a benefit, but that can't be right; so I presume it goes on mine.

The Marketplace Identifier and the Marketplace assigned policy number are too long to fit on the form. I can put NY instead of New York, but there is no way to get the policy number on the form. Do I just truncate?

Thanks much ==========Moderator... you rejected this the first time I tried to post it because it doesn't contain enough of the prior article to make clear the context of your reply. There is no prior article. This is an original question, not a reply. Thanks again.

Your son I presume is your dependent for whom you are obtaining the AOTC.

You would only have to file Form 8962 with your tax return if you took the Advanced Premium Tax Credit (there is a positive number in Column C of the 1095-A) and/or your son was identified as a member of your tax family when you applied in the marketplace and he bought his insurance in the marketplace and there is a positive number in Column C of his 1095-A.
