A trust invested in a hedge fund that in 2012 made transfers to foreign corporations. None of the transfers were for more than $100,000, but the total to several corporations is more than $150,000. Some of the transactions result in an allocation to the trust of no more than a few hundred dollars.
Questions:
- Does the partnership have to file Form 926?
- Is there a de minimus amount? (There are at least a dozen transfers, probably more.)
