How much of NOL to use up

How much of NOL to use up? Suppose your AGI is 9750. After standard deduction and exemption, your taxable income is zero. So then does any of the NOL have to be used up? Strangely, none of the guides talk about this.

The NOL carry over is used to reduce AGI. Therefore, in your example, $9,750 is used up.

======================Follow the worksheets. For a carry-back, use the schedules for form 1045, even if you didn't file the form itself.

Personal exemptions generally absorb NOLs. The standard deduction is considered a personal (non-business) expense.
