So I have to make my April and June estimates for Fed and 2 states. Is it OK just to send one check each as the April payment covering the total amounts for the 2 quarters?

For the IRS you can send a single check. You should check with the states to make sure that won't be a problem. I would think it's ok, but who knows?

CA matches federal. A single payment is sufficient.
