Somewhere I read that the IRS no longer send tax vouchers to people who use paid tax preparers. Is that correct?
When did that change?

There was a thread on this topic in this group 3/11/2008 "2008 Estimated tax vouchers?".
Check the page 1 instructions for 2008 Form 1040-ES from the IRS. The pertinent fact is not the use of paid tax preparer, but electronically filing your return (which almost all paid tax preparers are supposed to do).
You can use electronic payments (EFTPS) from your bank (debit or credit) to avoid the need for paper checks, envelopes, postage, and vouchers.
