Aside from doing away with limitations on itemized deductions to simplify matters, why the heck does this exist:
- divide line 9 by 1.5
- subtract line 10 from line 9
why not just:
divide line 9 by 3?

Year-to-year continuity? It's easier to modify existing form lines than wholesale addition and deletion of lines.
