I own and operate a one-employee C Corp in New York State, with me as the sole employee.
For years I have paid my New York State UI payments using Form NYS-45, Quarterly Combined Withholding, Wage Reporting, and Unemployment Insurance Return, which is filed after the end of each quarter. In a normal year, the form would be filed after the first quarter, or perhaps the second.
This year, due to greatly reduced activity, I did not process a payroll until this weekend, which is obviously the fourth quarter.
I made my normal tax deposits using EFTPS for Federal and NYS-1 for NYS Withholding. However, the UI tax is unpaid, and will stay on my books past the end of this year, to be paid in January, 2021 with my
4th quarter NYS-45. Since I am a cash basis taxpayer, I will end up paying Federal Income Tax on these funds if I cannot pay them before December 31, 2020.
Is there any way, other than the NYS-45, to pay my New York UI tax?
Thank you.
