OT: Mead Judge Exam

In all my years moderating this newsgroup, I have rarely allowed off-topic posts. So this is a rare exception afforded only to those I know are fans of neither the Noo Yawk damnyankees nor the inhabitants of the Wrigley Graveyard.

I receved an e-mail today that I passed the Mead Judge Exam and I am elated. From a tax standpoint, my only revenue is a free lunch, but I do get 14 cents a mile to judge at 501(c)(3) events.

And yes Harlan, I was referring to you, ;)

Congratulations, Dick. Now will you be permitted to judge your own beer? ___ Stu

Judging mead and driving too. Hmmmmm.

Conratulations, Dick.

And congratulations to whoever convinced IRS that Mead judging was a c(3) activity :^)

Congratulations.

Does the activity qualify as "educational", "scientific", or "testing for public safety"?

The academic literature on expertise is replete with empirical evidence that humans are suboptimal evaluators of their own work.

I no longer drive. Just drink.

Thanks,
