New to all this

I'm new to all this ISA, GEP, 5 term bond etc malarky and have been reading up about it online, checking out Investors Chronicle etc, and was just wondering if any of you kind people would like to share any good websites you've found. I know about ThisIsMoney, Hemscott, Motley fool and a couple of others but any more would be appreciated. Also, is there a souce of share/ftse data I can download? I'm sort of interested in knocking up a little VB program to show how various companies have done in the past to see if I can find any sort of patterns to help me gamb..uh, invest some money in the stock market.

TMF, but you've already seen that.

The trouble with writing programs to download HTML data is that the sites often change to subscription models. This happened to TMFs own attempt when they published a series of articles demonstrating how to do it. The best source of info. is which has a free 30 day trial period.
