PDF uploads in MEF e-filing

I've noticed that the new MEF system is uploading some documents as PDF attachments as part of the e-file: examples are partnership basis statements, supplemental business expense (like 2106). There are probably others.


For the uninformed, MeF = Modernized e-File (XML-based data file format that the IRS has been rolling out to production for several years now)

It depends on what your particular software supports, doesn't it? I hope you are saying it only uploads documents that you specifically designate to be uploaded.

Can your first sentence be re-phrased: "[...] the new MeF system is

*capable* of uploading some documents as PDF attachments [...]"?
