If they need to collect money, they are very effective in finding you. If they have to notify you of your unclaimed property that will be forfeited to the state in N years, they are not very effective at that.
An update.
Yesterday (Sept. 3) I received 2 acknowledgements from the state that they had received my claim forms. (There were two separate items.) They will investigate, which could take up to 180 days.
Final update.
On Saturday, Sept. 21 I received checks in the mail from the state. Other than filling out the claim forms, there was nothing I had to do.
Total time to process was about 6-7 weeks.
