Rent / Leasing tax question

Rent / Leasing question   I am thinking of doing a 1031 Exchange

With respect to a 1031 exchange... can one buy a beach property and rent it on aribnb?  as opposed to renting it out on a monthly / yearly lease basis?

Does the IRS require that the acquired property be rented out in any particular manner?

Don't use "aribnb" - you'll do better on airbnb.

The IRS typically and generally doesn't care how you rent out a property. A rental is a rental. You need only to be certain the exchanged properties are held for use in a trade or business or for investment. And avoid personal use of it, too.
