What to do with K-1 with all zeros?

Mar 22, 2013 2 Replies

I received K-1's from two different MLP's after I filed my return. One MLP has the numbers filled in and I am preparing an amended return to take care of that.

The second K-1 is filled with zeros. This is probably because I only held that MLP for three weeks and did not receive any distributions. I took a loss on the sale which I show on Form 8949.

Question: Do I need to include the second K-1 on my amended return or just forget it because it shows nothing but zeros?

To supplement my original question, I did receive a Sales Schedule for the K-1 with all zeros and I will have to use that to calculate to calculate the gain or loss. However, the Sales Schedule is pre-filled out with "Adjustments to Basis" equal zero and Ordinary Gain = zero so that Capital Loss I already showed on the 8849 will still be the same.

Seems safe to ignore.
