I logged on my IRS account and saw a message saying "You have an Extension to File you 2021 Tax Return." What does this mean?
I filed an extension before the due date and mailed my tax return forms on August 12th. Why am I getting this message?
You have an extension to file your 2021 tax return???

You're getting the message because, even though you filed your return in August, the IRS hasn't fully processed it yet and recorded it on the Master File.
