Legally no, but they can always make a mistake and take something that they shouldn't. If they do this you should be entitled to it back, but this might not always be a satisfactory outcome.

don't let it get that far. if she can't keep up payments, she should speak to the creditors and tell them she is skint.

creditors know they can't get blood out of a stone. often, they will stop charging interest and accept a reasonable offer to reduce debts by instalments.

a bailiff would be the option after a county court judgment has been granted. but, if she is sued in the county court, she should admit the debt is owing and then provide details of her financial circumstances.

if she has 10 of disposable income a week and no savings, for example, the court would not say "pay 5000 immediately." that would not be reasonable. the court might say "pay 5 a week" and the creditor would have little option but to go along with that.

but, if she ignored the court papers, she WOULD be ordered to pay immediately. there would then be a load of hassle trying to reduce the payments.
