Allied Boots shares

Has anyone any idea what would happen to employes holdings in sharesave accounts, if Boots are taken over by the private equity company.

They are no different from any other outstanding shares on the public market, one presumes they would exercise their right to compulsory purchase and take the company private for regulatory reasons and to prevent dividend leakage.

Whether they would put in place a similar incentive programme remains to be seen. Private equity is now all about loading up the balance sheet with debt and doing a runner with the proceeds, opposed to repairing struggling companies in a 5 year timeframe.
